| The Psychiatrist POOL will be responsible for providing in-patient specialty psychiatric care to patients admitted to the Arizona State Hospital including: performing diagnostic examinations, prescribing medications, developing behavioral plans, monitoring care and progress of the patient toward treatment and recovery goals; leading a multi-disciplinary team, overseeing the work of the team in developing and implementing a plan of care, working with outpatient teams, the patient, families and community providers of care to coordinate a continuum of care for assigned patients; completing inpatient documentation, preparation of reports for legal and administrative purposes; participating in hospital committees and in the development of policies and procedures and standards for mental health program services; working with other professionals in a recovery model including nurses, social workers, psychologists, rehabilitation staff, and other physicians and professional including physician assistants and nurse practitioners. |
