The Custodial Worker II is responsible for the performance of various heavy-duty janitorial services to create a pleasant and clean environment for the residents, visitors, and staff of the Arizona Pioneers' Home.
• Strip, rinse and wax floors using heavy-duty floor equipment, which includes movement of all furniture from the affected areas
• Wash, mop and clean emergencies require such as in restrooms, lobby and any area on the property
• Clean resident rooms including the windows and moving of furniture such as beds and dressers
• Clean offices, Stair Tower, Activity House and outer buildings such as patios and porches
• Restock housekeeping cleaning and resident linen supplies
• Collect soiled laundry, transporting it to the laundry room
• Clean and set up lobby, lounges and halls for activities
• Washing all windows interior and exterior
• Collect and deposit trash
• Clean restrooms
Knowledge of:
• Occupational hazards/safety measures used in the operation of heavy duty cleaning equipment
• Methods, materials, chemicals and disinfectants used in cleaning public buildings
• Cleaning processes and light maintenance of equipment used
• Various qualities and kinds of carpet and cleaning techniques
• Theories of on the job instructions of janitorial practices
Skill:
• Interpersonal relationships, patience and empathy with elderly clientele and residents
• Analyzing a product to use accurately and adapt to an effective course of action
• Cleaning and maintaining of heavy cleaning equipment
• Safe operation of heavy duty power equipment
• Time and work management
Ability:
• Communicate effectively with residents, staff, and visitors with patients and empathy
• Reason and prioritize tasks need to be completed
• Perform assigned tasks to a high standard
• A candidate with prior experience in a custodial position
• Must undergo annual screening for TB with negative results
• Valid Arizona Class 1 fingerprint card within 20 days of hire
