Job Summary:

Works under limited supervision of the TSMO Signal ITS Warehouse manager. Has the authority to order necessary supplies and materials, determine minimum/maximum stock levels and reorder points; accept/reject delivery of supplies, materials, and/or equipment; plan, organize, assign, and evaluate the work of subordinate staff. Ensures that the Warehouse is adequately stocked with appropriate items; requested items picked, packed, staged, and delivered correctly and in a timely manner; correctly prepared requisitions, purchase orders, and distribution documents; subordinate staff trained in equipment operations, safety practices, and warehousing procedures. Responsible for maintaining an adequate supply of items necessary for the organization's operating needs based on communication with Signal, Lighting and Technical Electrical supervisors and managers; scheduling incoming and outgoing deliveries of supplies, materials, and equipment; projecting inventory needs based on communicated organization operations and vendor lead times; training and supervising subordinate staff. The Warehouse supervisor is responsible for supervising a crew of four storekeepers.

Job Duties:

Supervise the initiation and completion of tasks and take responsibility and accountability of four storekeepers including work scheduling, leave approval, employee evaluation, training, guidance, and discipline, unloading trucks, pallet jacks, forklift, and cranes, creates reorder point, biannual warehouse inventory, communicate with customers, vendors, and truck drivers to schedule delivery/pick-up, report to manager.

Work with procurement division, contract update, new vendor, potential vendors, Investigate inventory discrepancies, initiate preventive measure, distribute biannual inventory report to manager for review of outdated stock, enforced standard work, pick, pack, and stage equipment/supplies/material for customers to pick up, notify customers when orders arrived, contact customers to schedule pick up, as needed.

Supervise issuing/receiving materials, includes loading trucks, using forklifts, pallet jacks, and cranes, ensuring proper document i.e. signature, maintaining accountability and security for all item stocked, transactions processed, contact vendors, request quote to replenish the warehouse inventory, document, maintain, enforce the warehouse business processes, drive a state vehicle.

Perform maintenance safety checks on the equipment as needed, refuel or replace empty forklift tanks, report equipment incident/failures, building discrepancies, plumbing, cooler, create work order, contact equipment services for cyclic equipment check, maintain a reasonably clean, safe, orderly work environment, prepare equipment/supplies/materials for surplus disposition, keep management in the know.

Knowledge:
- Storekeeping/warehousing practices/procedures including shipping, receiving and inventory control.
- State Procurement Code and associated rules/regulations.
- Special storage requirements for certain supplies/materials.
- The principles and practices of leadership and work management.
- The principles and practices of employee training.
- Delivery scheduling principles and practices.
- Recordkeeping/report preparation procedures.
- Stores/warehousing safety practices and procedures.
- Knowledge of Google Workspace.

Skill:

Ability:

- Ability to organize and operate a stores/warehousing facility.
- Ability to train subordinate staff; ability to apply the principles and practices of leadership and work management.

- Prepare reports regarding supplies/materials usage and stores/warehousing activities.
- Establish and maintain effective work relationships.
- Ability to coach and develop employees, including continuous improvement practices and principles.

Selective Preference(s):

Experience with PeCoS software tool, experience with Excel.
Experience with the Arizona Management System.
Experience with warehousing operations.
Be able to obtain certification to operate an ADOT Powered Industrial Truck per OSHA Revised Rule 29 CFR 1910.178.

Pre-Employment Requirements:

This position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job and the following requirements apply. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver’s license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver’s license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R2-10-207.11).

One (1) year of warehouse supervisory experience.
