Job Summary:

The Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) is looking for an experienced Quality Assurance Mental Health Lead. This position is responsible for optimizing health care delivery to the incarcerated prison population within the Arizona State Prisons. Job Duties:

-Facilitates training and provides support to staff in comprehending work expectations and processes
-Provides customer support
-Directs and supports staff in achieving quality assurance program objective
-Assess staff performance and reports findings to the Quality Assurance Director
-Facilitates team and stakeholder meetings
-Oversees vendors and operational processes pertaining to inmate healthcare across multiple prison complexes
-Support the development of monitoring guides and standard work
-Create and maintain databases, perform root cause analysis, and collaborate with Contracted Healthcare Providers and Arizona Department of -Corrections Rehabilitation and Reentry Operations to implement and sustain process improvement
-Gather, analyze and identify trends in data for presentation to various stakeholders
-Create processes to assess errors and system issues
-Support the maintenance of a reporting system for preventable adverse events and other tracking mechanisms
-Escalate concerns to the supervisory chain of command and actively participate in resolving issues
-Assist in developing a sustainable monitoring program, provide oversight to Contracted Healthcare Providers and support the implementation of ongoing quality improvement initiatives
-Ensure alignment with Arizona Department of Corrections Rehabilitation and Reentry Health Services Technical Manuals, National Commission on Correctional Healthcare Standards and Federal Court injunctions
-Support the updating and progression of the Continued Quality Improvement study development at each of the nine state prison complexes
-Attends meetings and training sessions
-Completes special projects and assignments
-Performs other duties as assigned by the Arizona Department of Corrections Medical Director
-Other duties as assigned as related to the position
-Drives on state business

Selective Preference(s):

Three (3) years experience providing mental health treatment services to incarcerated individuals

Master’s degree or higher in a mental health related field

Current Arizona License by the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiner

Certified Correctional Healthcare Professional (CCHP)

Pre-Employment Requirements:

Employment is contingent on the selected applicant passing a background investigation.

In an effort to maintain a safe environment, all employees are required to take a Tuberculosis (TB) test during their New Employee Orientation and every year thereafter.

Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver’s license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver’s license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R2-10-207.11).

Retirement:

Positions in this classification participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS).
Enrollment eligibility will become effective after 27 weeks of employment.
