The Arizona Department of Corrections Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) is seeking a professional leader to play a vital role as a Victim Notification Assistant under the direct supervision of the Victim Services Administrator. This position is responsible for providing accurate information and notification of offender release status to crime victims and law enforcement agencies pursuant to AZ Rev Statutes and Department Orders.

- Provides accurate written, digital and/or verbal information and notification to crime victims to include an offender’s release, death, escape/re-arrest and return to custody
- Works with Victim Advocates to ensure victims and other criminal justice agencies (County Attorney, Superior Court etc.) are notified by phone/written correspondence
- Performs highly responsible administrative duties while maintaining confidentiality
- Responds to inquiries relating to classification, release dates, victims’ rights, the criminal justice system and provides referrals as needed
- Enters data and/or updates information on ADCRR ACIS (Arizona Case Information System) and the Victim Services Database related to victim status, address changes and case notes
- Interprets and explains organizational rules, regulations and functions
- Interacts with other ADCRR departments, Arizona Board of Executive Clemency, other State agencies and law enforcement departments, victim’s organizations regarding the legal status of offenders.
- Coordinates administrative matters between departments
- Reviews and interprets court related documents and apply a variety of laws, rules and policies including the AZ Revised Statutes, victims’ rights, department policies and procedures to interpret eligible release dates
- Knowledge of offender classification status and sentence
- Assists Administrator with composing correspondence on a wide variety of subjects - Maintains tracking log of all services provided for grant reporting
- Researches, analyzes and gathers data to generate reports
- Assists with grant documentation and statistics to produce reports
- Participates in relevant training and certifications
- Answers incoming calls and responds to emails, while providing excellent customer service internally and externally
- Ensures victims’ request for post-conviction notification are acknowledged, processed and contact information is accurately entered in the database to ensure victims are notified of an offender’s release within timeframes specified in A.R.S. 13-4413
- Drives on State business

Knowledge of:
- Principles and practices of administration, agency policy, procedures and culture - State and federal law, including victims’ rights statutes
- Offender classification status, sentence, audits and recalculation of time due to changes in parole classification status or modification in sentences
- ADCRR ACIS (Arizona Case Information System)
- Criminal justice system to include post-conviction stage
- Grant documentation and compilation of statistics
- Operations of computer equipment and various computer software, including Google Suite

Employment is contingent on the selected applicant passing a background investigation.

Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver’s license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver’s license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R2-10-207.11).
