The ASRS Investment Division is led by Michael Viteri, Chief Investment Officer, and manages the daily investment of approximately $57 billion in assets held in a diversified investment portfolio of cash, fixed income, domestic and international equities, real estate, private equity and private credit. The ASRS Investment Division, currently comprised of 12 individuals, is responsible for managing the investments of the ASRS pension plan, Long Term Disability plan, and Health Benefits plan. Codified through the ASRS Investment Beliefs, the ASRS Investment Division oversees the actual investments, which are managed by a select group of investment managers, as well as providing internal portfolio management capabilities for select asset class mandates.

The Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS) is seeking a Senior Investment Analyst to join its Public Equity Team. This role will focus on U.S. mid- and small-cap fundamental public equities, with responsibility for conducting in-depth research and analysis to support investment decision-making. The Analyst will evaluate financial data, market trends, sector performance, and company-specific equity valuations to identify attractive investment opportunities. Additionally, the role includes presenting research findings and market updates to the Public Equity Team.
- Conduct comprehensive fundamental analysis of mid and small-cap U.S. companies, including financial statement analysis, valuation modeling, and industry assessment.
- Develop and present research reports, investment recommendations, and market commentary to the internal team.
- Engage with company management teams (when applicable), sell-side research analysts, industry experts, and other stakeholders to gain insights and validate investment perspectives.
- Track, evaluate and conduct reporting on the performance of existing and prospective investments and positions.
- Assist Senior Portfolio Manager and/or Deputy CIO with investment research projects
- Works collaboratively across a number of functional areas within ASRS
The ideal candidate will have: |
Academic
- Relevant Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
Certification
- CFA or other appropriate professional investment designation or progress towards designation
Experience
- 5+ years of experience related to U.S. mid and small-cap equity research
