Performs professional operating accounting work requiring the standardized application of established accounting principles, theories, concepts, and practices. Conducts the reconciliation of reports and financial data, identifying or correcting inconsistencies or errors. Recommends and implements solutions to identified financial problems. Establishes and maintains effective fiscal management by analyzing, interpreting, and evaluating procedures and policies and providing management with accurate input as to needed improvements. Makes practical applications of technical accounting principles, theories, and concepts. Responsible for applying established accounting principles, concepts, and practices in the area of Revenue Accounting. Provides proper accounting for a variety of transactions including processing cash/check/wire and credit card deposits daily, bank reconciliations, balance sheet adjustment, credit card reconciliations.

The lead is responsible for day to day operational activities associated with processing agency revenue transactions which include cash, check, credit card and wire payments. Ensure all accounting data is accurately in AFIS, and coordinates with the Revenue Supervisor on approvals for accounting documents. Ensures all agency bank accounts reconciled monthly. Limited approval access for AFIS documents and have limited signature authority for minor functions.
Provides communication to the programs as payments are received and deposited into the appropriate accounting structure. Notifies programs as necessary to receive input regarding unidentified payments, replacement payments for NSF checks, reconciling deposit discrepancies, and clearing all adjustments for the balance sheet accounts.
Performs variety of finance and budgeting functions and/or transactions, including handling automated quality control reviews to detect and resolve complex problems applicable to full cycle of Revenue activities. Inspects work completed by Accountant and Accounting Specialists for quality assurance on deliverables.
Main contact and administrator for Pcards and Travel Cards. Responsible for training new card holders, answering emails and questions related to Pcard and Travel Card accounts. Performs a monthly audit of all Pcard and Travel card transactions to ensure the card holders are in compliance with the SAAM policies. Assist with GAO semiannual audits.

Knowledge of:
- Economic and accounting principles and practices; the analysis and reporting of financial data.
- Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP); comprehensive knowledge of the principles, concepts, practices, methods and techniques of government accounting.
- Internal control structures, and fiscal management.
- Considerable knowledge of the methods and techniques of automated financial systems.
- Comprehensive knowledge of reference materials such as federal regulations, Arizona Revised Statutes, applicable agency manuals, and policies and procedures.
- Working knowledge of financial research methodologies; accounting principles.

- SharePoint ADHS Invoice Management System (IMS).

Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or a closely related field required; Two years’ experience as an Accountant 1, 2 or equivalent.
