JOB SUMMARY:

The Arizona Public Safety Personnel Retirement System (PSPRS) is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Auditor 4. Reporting to the Chief Internal Auditor, the Auditor 4 primarily performs complex and/or sensitive audits examining, investigating and reviewing records, reports, financial statements or business systems.

This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

Job Duties:

The Auditor 4 is responsible to:

  • Plan, organize and conduct difficult, complex and/or sensitive audits as assigned
    o Scope may include multidisciplinary or multifunctional areas of a complex nature.
  • Develop audit scopes, objectives and procedures in accordance with auditing standards.
  • Collect and analyze data and reach sound conclusions from interviews, records, observations and other audit procedures.
  • Prepare concise, comprehensive, well-organized working papers that accurately and effectively communicate audit work, conclusions and recommendations.
  • Prepare clear and concise audit reports, including outlines, draft and final reports.
  • Communicate effectively to obtain information and assist management, employers, local boards, and other stakeholders in understanding audit results and recommendations.
  • Present audit results and recommendations to auditees and other stakeholders as required.
  • Manage and track time to plan, organize and complete assigned audits efficiently within allotted timeframes.
  • Drive to other locations to conduct audits and for trainings as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge of:

  • Professional auditing standards, and auditing processes and techniques.

Skill in:

  • Initiative, critical thinking, professional skepticism, objectivity and sound judgement.
  • Effective communication.
  • Building and maintaining effective working relationships with PSPRS staff at all levels and with PSPRS stakeholders.

Ability to:

  • Work independently with general guidance from the Chief Internal Auditor.
  • Understand applicable laws, including Arizona Revised Statutes, rules and regulations governing PSPRS operations.
  • Solicit, receive, analyze and use information provided by others.
  • Ensure working papers and reports meet all required professional standards and PSPRS policies and procedures.
Selective Preference(s):
  • Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).
Pre-Employment Requirements:

This position will require the possession of and ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver's license.

Employment is contingent on the selected applicant passing a background investigation to include credit and criminal history.

Retirement:

Positions in this classification participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS). Please note that enrollment eligibility becomes effective after 27 weeks of employment.
