Reporting to the agency Deputy Director, this position will act on behalf of the Director and Deputy Director, as requested, and may include attendance at Governor's Cabinet Meetings and external meetings to speak on behalf of the agency; coordinate with the Finance & Accounting and Information Technology divisions; lead the agency's strategic planning and policy efforts; responsible for oversight, implementation and continual improvements and updates to the agency's standard work process; and oversee the agency's Statewide Measures. Other duties as assigned.

Reporting to the agency Deputy Director, this position will act on behalf of the Director and Deputy Director, as requested, and may include attending Governor's Cabinet Meetings and external meetings to speak on behalf of the agency; provide divisional and staff oversight to the work of the Administrators and other staff of the Finance & Accounting and Information Technology divisions. This includes meeting with Administrators, planning and goal setting, discussing problems and recommending or accepting solutions to problems, attending meetings related to these divisions and other work related to divisional oversight. Ensure systems are in place that result in no audit findings to the agency.
Duties will include:
• Serve as primary point of contact for liaisons from the Governor's Office of Strategic Planning and Budgeting (OSPB) and the Joint Legislative Budget Committee (JLBC) concerning strategic planning, and fiscal and budgetary issues.
• Lead ADOH’s annual strategic planning efforts, including monthly reporting to the Governor’s Office and ensuring our agency is meeting our annual initiatives and annual objective, to fulfill our 5-year strategic plan; conduct business analysis for the agency and its divisions.
• Organize and facilitate the Agency's planning processes, including development, documentation and submittal of Agency Strategic plan to the OSPB.
• Conduct short to long-term planning.
• Conduct research and analysis on operational, administrative and planning issues and offer advice/alternatives and solutions to Agency management.
• Serve as the agency's liaison with the AZ Department of Emergency Management Agency (AZDEMA); assess ADOH’s roles and responsibilities in support of housing programs impacted in an emergency, disaster, or pause in operations. Oversee and implement any responses of the Agency in practice and in emergency preparedness.
• Oversee implementation and continual improvements and updates to the agency’s standard work process.
• Work with the agency’s leadership to ensure implementation and appropriate representation as it relates to ADOH’s tribal engagement and consultation.
• Oversee the agency's Statewide Measures, which are a set statewide standards and expectations for operational agency maturity, which have been identified to address important operational priorities, as well as goals of the Department.
• Coordinate with the Information Technology division, and work with the CIO who is responsible for the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the agency's local area network, and providing computer hardware and software services to agency staff. Facilitate agency-wide improvements as part of an enterprise initiative in greater accessibility of state government agency’s websites.
• Coordinate with the Finance & Accounting division and work with the Finance Administrator to oversee the preparation and submittal of the Agency's biannual Executive Budget request and any other financial documents needed for leadership
• Responsible for the agency's facilities and physical requirements for conducting business.

Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science in an interdisciplinary area desirable, but not required.
