Job Summary:

The Arizona Department of Agriculture Citrus, Fruit and Vegetable Division is currently recruiting for an Administrative Service Officer 1. The duty post for this position is in Nogales Arizona.

The Citrus, Fruit, and Vegetable Standardization program monitors and enforces the quality standards for all fresh fruit and vegetables produced and marketed in Arizona.

This position will assist the Program Manager(s) by providing administrative/managerial duties for the Nogales FSIS office and will support the other two Citrus, Fruit and Vegetable offices in Yuma and Phoenix. The position is responsible for federal programs, license management, human resource assistance, facilities and procurement. The position is also responsible for keeping the Nogales inspection office in compliance with state and federal policies and requirements.

 

Job Duties:

Duties to include but not limited to:

• Coordinate administrative manners between two FSIS Nogales Program Managers and serves a large office workforce including 38 full-time and up to 110 seasonal inspectors.
• Assistance inspector supervisors, inspector training staff, IT, and dispatch staff.
• Provides standard administrative/managerial duties such as facilitating correspondence with agencies, divisional offices, and industry stakeholders.
• Procurement- ordering supplies.
• Responsible for appointment scheduling, reading and interpreting policy, review of travel claims.
• Records and documents the meeting minutes for all Nogales leadership and administrative staff meetings.
• Monthly and annual reporting on USDA fees and production to the USDA for the Federal/State programs in the three district offices (Yuma, Phoenix, & Nogales).
• Manage licenses of all inspectors in all 3 CFV offices.
• Specialize HR task of hiring seasonal employees.
• Other duties as assigned and drive a State vehicle on State business.

Retirement:

Positions in this classification participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS). ASRS is a mandatory condition of employment for all employees who meet the eligibility and membership criteria defined in statue. Current contribution rate is 12.00%. Enrollment eligibility will become effective after 27 weeks of employment.
