The purpose of this Senior Manager, Travel Industry Marketing is to educate and sell Arizona to tour operators and travel agents. The Senior Manager, Travel Industry Marketing, manages the program functions as they apply to the travel industry marketing division.
This position may be available for remote work within Arizona (2 days per week in the office/hoteling).
• Collaborate with local DMOs and other travel industry partners on ad hoc promotions, targeting tour operators and travel agents. Build relationships and outreach to communities within the entire state to better promote their destination
• Oversee all travel industry efforts in assigned markets, including market plan development, applicable budget recommendations, and supervision of related contracts and international account managers
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with tour operators and travel agents; assist with itinerary planning, respond to inquiries, and provide access to resources for planning
• Create and source business leads to partner destinations for the opportunity to increase sales revenue for their destination and the State of Arizona
• Develop and lead sales missions, special events, and familiarization tours, often in partnership with Arizona tourism industry representatives
• Collaborate with the marketing team on various international consumer co-operative campaigns
• Handle all planning, communications, and follow-up reports on a timely basis
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs): |
Knowledge:
• 2+ years tourism and or sales-related experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and G Suite
• Experience using Adobe Creative Cloud
Skills:
• Experience building relationships among a diverse population or organizations, associations, and interest groups, as well as internal constituents
• Time management and program management skills
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• In oral and written communications
Abilities:
• Take initiative and use sound judgment to make appropriate business decisions and meet performance standards
• Work effectively with all levels of the organization
• To properly prioritize multiple projects
• Bachelor's degree in tourism development, communications, or similar, three years of marketing, communications, or travel industry experience; or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skill, and abilities
