As part of the Telecom and Energy analysis team, you will assist with economic analysis and research in utility ratemaking. This includes reviewing and providing recommendations to the Commission on a wide variety of items such as: adjustor rate resets, Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Plans, tariffs, and rate design. You may participate in teams working on utility rate cases, including preparing written testimony, and presenting testimony at hearings, Open Meetings, and other public forums.
- Assist with economic analysis and research in utility ratemaking as part of the Telecom and Energy Analysis team
- Review and provide recommendations to the Commission on various items, including:
- Adjustor rate resets
- Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Plans
- Tariffs
- Rate design
- Participate in teams working on utility rate cases
- Prepare written testimony
- Present testimony at hearings, Open Meetings, and other public forums
| Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs): |
• Knowledge of the economic concepts of public utility regulation and ratemaking;
• Knowledge of current issues in electric, gas, water/wastewater, and telecommunications industries;
• Ability to analyze economic and financial data using various statistical methods;
• Ability to prepare written reports and present oral testimony that clearly explains and supports findings and recommendations;
• Skilled in cooperating and working effectively with others as part of a team;
• Excellent oral communication skills, including ability to testify in formal proceedings, and making public presentations; and
• Proficient skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and statistical modeling
Bachelor’s degree or higher in economics, statistics, accounting, business, public policy, energy, or other related field;
