The Event Wagering and Fantasy Sports position is responsible for the monitoring and compliance of event wagering and fantasy sports operations. This position is responsible for monitoring all event wagering and fantasy sports activities including geofence testing, monitoring the retail wagering facilities, mobile operations, kiosks, and counter terminals to ensure compliance with the rules and regulations. This position is responsible for independently conducting investigations for rule violations and/or self reported incidents and preparing investigative reports for all disciplinary actions, to include preparation of legal reports and exhibits in anticipation for litigation. Other duties include reviewing promotions and/or bonuses, facilitating and/or investigating patron complaints, and maintaining accurate and complete data files. The position is also responsible for facilitating training and interacting with employees of the operators, suppliers, and the general public on a near-daily basis.
This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.
• Monitor and conduct inspections at all wagering facilities to ensure compliance with rules and regulations. Inspect and verify surveillance coverage, kiosks, counter terminals, cash storage areas, and storage areas at the retail wagering facilities. Review employee and supplier licenses for compliance. Generate and maintain field visit reports.
• Monitor all mobile event wagering and fantasy sports platforms to ensure compliance with the rules and regulations. Verify that permissible wagers adhere to the rules and regulations. Generate and maintain mobile platform testing reports for geofence testing.
• Investigate rule violations and prepare investigation reports for the supervisor and/or manager. Investigate and/or follow-up on any self reported incidents, unusual betting patterns, and/or suspicious wagering activity. Provide investigative reports and recommendations for potential legal action and proceedings.
• Respond to oral and written inquires from members of the public for patron complaints. Manage the process and maintain all patron complaint files relating the Event Wagering and Fantasy Sports Operators, including conducting investigations and preparing reports on unresolved patron disputes.
• Review and approve promotions and other submission requests for event wagering and fantasy sports.
• Prepare and conduct presentations and/or trainings for internal employees and external stakeholders. Maintain and foster a positive working relationship with event wagering and fantasy sports stakeholders through frequent and consistent contact.

Knowledge:
Knowledge of Arizona Event Wagering and Fantasy Sports rules, regulations, Arizona Revised Statutes, and agency policies and procedures.
Event Wagering and Fantasy Sports Systems, kiosks, and counter terminal interfaces.
Microsoft Office and G-Suite programs.
Event wagering and fantasy sports contest terminology and industry knowledge.
Surveillance systems and coverage requirements.
Retail event wagering, mobile wagering, and fantasy sports wagering, calculation of odds, payoffs and distribution of certain bet types.
Patron dispute process.

High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in the event wagering and/or fantasy sports industry is preferred.
