JOB SUMMARY:
The Arizona Public Safety Personnel Retirement System (PSPRS) is currently seeking a highly experienced and motivated IT professional for the position of IT Project Manager located in Phoenix, Arizona. Under the supervision of the IT Operations Manager, the IT Project Manager is responsible for managing concurrent technology projects, defining project scopes, building and leading teams for architecture, design, implementation, training, testing and rollout. This position will work with minimal guidance to manage projects and engage business and IT for requirements gathering, solution engineering, and project execution. This position will also engage, monitor and hold vendors accountable for delivery, quality, timeliness and contractual compliance.
This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

MAJOR RESONSIBILITES/FUNCTIONS:
- Manages concurrent technology projects and orchestrates the definition of project scope.
- Builds and leads teams for architecture, design, implementation, training, testing, and rollout.
- Assembles and leads cross-functional groups without direct reporting authority.
- Manages projects based on repeatable standards and practices, occasionally developing new approaches.
- Exhibits and continuously develop interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Employs business analysis skills to engage business and IT for requirements gathering, solution engineering, and project execution.
- Defines and documents customer requirements and service levels.
- Facilitates issue and conflict resolution.
- Identifies, mitigates, and reports project risks.
- Engages, monitors, and holds vendors accountable for delivery, quality, timeliness, and contractual compliance.
- Ensures successful project completion and generation of desired value.
- Manages project budget and resources.
- Prioritizes and plans work activities, sets goals and objectives, uses time efficiently, and communicates activities and results as appropriate.
- Responds promptly to customer needs and takes a customer-centric approach to problem solving.
- Solicits customer feedback to improve service, responds to requests for service and assistance, meets commitments, manages difficult or emotional customer situations, and fosters relationships.
- Works with minimal guidance and regularly participates in reviews of assigned and completed tasks.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Five years of technical experience including at least three years of project or relevant IT mgt.
- Business analysis experience a plus.
- Vendor management experience a plus.
- Technical or business Bachelor’s Degree preferred. PMP, CAPM or other relevant certifications a plus.
