The Department of Economic Security, Office of Inspector General (OIG), Appellate Services Administration (ASA) is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as the Operations Manager. The Operations Manager will develop and maintain program knowledge, oversee and optimize daily business activities, managing resources, and ensuring efficiency to meet organizational goals. Key responsibilities involve implementing strategies, providing routine reports, and analytical data to determine if business needs are met. Managing staff supervisors, and monitoring performance through performance indicators.
This position may offer the ability to work remotely within Arizona based upon the department's needs and continual meetings of expected performance measures.

Essential Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Manage, hire and train supervisors and staff for direct functions of validating, docketing, scheduling, word processing, quality control, and customer service units ensuring division-wide coverage and standardization of activities. Supervise, direct, coach, discipline and evaluate direct subordinates. Oversee and assist in developing and implementation of policies, procedures, and work processes.
• Monitor and manage operational issues through performance indicators to measure efficiency and make necessary changes. and advise the Administrator and potentially other assistant directors on recommended solutions. Develop managerial tools, techniques, division policies, procedures & methods to increase efficiency in ASA. In collaboration with division management, develop and implement action plans to achieve divisional and agency goals.
• Attend and participate in meetings with the Administrator, subordinates, and personnel from other divisions or administrations to collaborate, provide updates, and address concerns within the Appellate Service Administration.
• Ensure compliance with regulations, policies, and safety standards. Manage the supply chain, inventory levels, and logistics to prevent waste and control costs. Solve operational challenges by troubleshooting problems, removing bottlenecks, and making data-driven decisions. Liaise between supervisors and senior management to communicate goals and initiatives. Contribute to long-term strategic planning and development with senior leaders.

• Google Workspace Applications including Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive, Meets, and other applications.
• Microsoft Applications, including Office Suite.

• Principles of strategic planning, financial management, policy analysis, program evaluation and resource allocation.
• Applicable federal, state and local statutes and Administrative Code.

• Preparing clear, concise, and accurate oral and written reports.

The ideal candidate for this position will have:
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a managerial role or 4 years’ experience as a supervisor.

Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver’s license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver’s license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R2-10-207.11).
