Salary:  $72,853.25 - $104,872.56

Job Summary:

This recruitment will be used to establish an 18-month eligibility list to fill current and future vacancies.  

Under direction, is responsible for independent work of considerable difficulty managing a local and/or wide area computer network and supervising a small group of technical support personnel engaged in a wide variety of technical support activities such as the design, installation, testing, modification, enhancement, and maintenance of a local and/or wide area computer network; and performs related work as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Requires a four (4) year degree from an accredited college or university with a major in computer information systems or a related field, and two (2) years of computer administration experience in a computer environment for a large (1,000+ employee) workforce;
OR six (6) years of experience as a Personal Computer Specialist with the Arizona Department of Public Safety;
OR a combination of education and experience which includes a minimum of two (2) years of computer administration experience in a computer environment for a large (1,000+ employee) workforce.

Progression to the next step requires an overall performance rating of at least "Standard" in the last 12 months.

Pre-Employment Requirements:

Applicants must complete an examination process. A polygraph and background investigation are required for successful applicants. DPS supports a drug-free work environment through pre-employment drug testing.
If this position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job to conduct State business, then the following requirements apply: Driver’s License Requirements. Retirement:

State employees are required to participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS), the State sponsored retirement contribution plan and the Long-Term Disability (LTD) program after a 27-week waiting period.
