Under the general supervision of an Accounting Administrator, this position provides support for centralized functions related to accounting, budgeting, purchasing, travel, and other administrative services. The role coordinates key activities within an administrative unit or program, including agency travel, accounts receivable, accounts payable, purchasing, fixed assets, and payroll. It contributes to operational initiatives that uphold fiscal controls by reviewing contracts, developing procedures, and preparing related correspondence.
-Prepare, process and review fiscal transactions. Communicate with vendors to resolve account discrepancies. Communicate issues or concerns relating to invoices with individuals throughout the agency for solutions.
-Handle agency travel, including approvals, bookings, and policy compliance.
-Complete monthly reconciliations including US Bank Travel (CTA) card, Purchase card and retailer debit/credit card records and reports.
-Gather, verify, and consolidate data from multiple sources to accurately complete weekly billing for retail partners.
- Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), as well as the principles, practices, and techniques of government accounting
- Automated accounting systems such as AZ360 and New World, including various software packages
- State statutes, and agency rules, policies, and procedures
- Strong Information Technology acumen
- Google Suite and Microsoft Office software
- Professional verbal and written communication
- Analysis and interpretation of financial data

3-4 years accounts payable or general accounting experience.
