The Governor’s Office of Strategic Planning and Budgeting (OSPB) is seeking a highly motivated and public service minded individual to serve on the Grants and Federal Resources Team(GFRT) within OSPB and to support making prudent fiscal decisions with federal and state dollars to advance equitable outcomes for Arizona citizens.
The Data Analyst will assist the GFRT with technology, reporting and data responsibilities of the department including, but not limited to, maintaining data integrity for GFRT analytics; supporting internal and external grants management system users with reporting and data needs; translating business needs into scalable solutions; and conducting analysis and creating recommendations and for OSPB/GFRT leadership.
This position provides critical support to the GFRT in the administration of grants including funds from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) under the State and Local Fiscal Recovery Fund (SLFRF) and Capital Projects Fund (CPF).

Key job responsibilities will include:
• Act as a representative for the Governor’s Office within the scope of responsibility, maintaining high standards of personal and professional accountability
• Provide internal support for existing data analytics and processes including the GFRT Dashboard, Risk Assessment, Single Audit, and monitoring modules
• Assist with designing, developing, and implementing new data analytics, processes, automations, and systems to streamline GFRT workflow and statewide reporting
• Assist with maintaining data integrity for GFRT analytics by monitoring inflow and outflow of grant data to/from data stores, ensuring that all visualizations remain accurate for stakeholders
• Collect, clean, analyze, and visualize large datasets to support reporting, trend analysis, and decision making
• Provide recommendations when designing and implementing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Assist with implementing data tracking and reporting within new systems at an enterprise level
• Collaborate with OSPB teams to define metrics, track KPIs, and provide data driven insights
• Support additional data analytics for Strategic Planning and Budget teams as needed
• Support the OSPB website with data visualization updates

• An Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in a related field with 3-4 years experience in data analysis or a similar area; or 5 years experience in data analysis or a similar area

• Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete any required driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.12.)
• Requires possession of and ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver’s license appropriate to the assignment
