The Department of Economic Security, Division of Financial Operations (DFO), is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as an Intern within the Financial Services Administration. This position will be under the direction of a Senior Managing Analyst and will prepare a variety of fiscal and legislative reports, perform detailed fiscal and budget analysis, and serve as the primary contact for the assigned deliverables. The Intern assists the Department and programmatic management staff, communicating with other peers and teams on matters related to their assigned deliverables With direction from the Senior Managing Analyst, the Intern provides responses to inquiries from the Governor's Office of Strategic Planning and Budgeting, the Joint Legislative Budget Committee, and the Legislature.
This position may be available for remote work within Arizona (two days per week in the office/hoteling).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assists in developing the Department's budget request submittal, including developing and maintaining fiscal summary and resource information for assigned areas, including data such as caseload statistics, historical funding patterns, and fund sources.
- Assists in the development of presentation materials to explain or justify the funding priorities contained in the budget request.
- Assist in the development and implementation of Human Resources policies and procedures.
- Assists in tracking proposed or pending Federal and State legislation, providing updates on the status of legislation, and coordinating Department responses for the Legislature and the Governor's Office on possible impacts of policy changes or funding modifications.
- Researches and analyzes expenditures, revenue, and caseload trends to prepare external and internal reports and presentations.
The ideal candidate for this position will have:
- Equivalent to Senior year in college.
