The Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) is seeking to hire an educator with experience in skilled trades, labor market, and career training education. This position supports the development and implementation of career-aligned curricula for incarcerated individuals participating in Arizona Correctional Industries (ACI) programs. Ensures training content is tied to industry-recognized credentials, reflects current labor market needs, and provides participants with skills directly applicable to post-release employment.

Job Duties:

- Collaborates with instructors, correctional staff, and industry partners to align training curricula with high-demand occupations
- Integrates credentialing opportunities (e.g., OSHA, NCCER, ServSafe) into existing ACI job assignments
- Supports the manager with community college, CTE program, and training provider coordination
- Coordinates the delivery of educational programming across multiple facilities
- Supports contract management, scheduling, and communication to ensure consistent program delivery
- Provides on-boarding and support for instructors delivering training within ACI shops
- Monitors instructional quality, student engagement, and credentialing completion rates
- Conducts classroom observations for quality assurance
- Maintains accurate records of curriculum delivery, credential attainment, and course completion
- Uses data to identify program gaps and recommends improvements
- Supports the manager in generating reports on educational outcomes and program effectiveness
- Ensures educational programs complement workforce development efforts and meet employer needs
- Represents ACI in education-focused working groups and initiatives
- Drives on State business
- Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge of:
- Career and technical education (CTE), workforce-aligned curriculum, and credentialing systems
- standard office software and database systems used for tracking and reporting program activities

Selective Preference(s):

- At least one (1) year of experience with curriculum development, CTE programs, or postsecondary instruction
- Familiarity with industry credentialing systems and labor market alignment

Pre-Employment Requirements:

Employment is contingent on the selected applicant passing a background investigation and a drug test.

If this position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job, then the following requirements apply. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver’s license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver’s license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R2-10-207.11).

In an effort to maintain a safe environment, all employees are required to take a Tuberculosis (TB) test during their New Employee Orientation and every year thereafter.

Retirement:

Positions in this classification participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS). Enrollment eligibility will become effective after 27 weeks of employment.
