Job Summary:

The Securities Division regulates Arizona’s investment market and is on the forefront of protecting Arizonans from financial frauds. When fraud or other violations related to securities law occur, the Securities Division’s Enforcement Group seeks payments from the accountable parties. This position will be housed within the 25-person Enforcement Group and is an integral part of the enforcement process.

The main responsibility of the position is to assist in monitoring the Securities Division’s payment program. This includes accounting, reconciling, and reporting the amounts paid directly to the Division and through other governmental agencies. The position processes the distribution of funds to victim investors or the state general fund, coordinates with the enforcement case teams (attorneys, investigators and forensic accountants) regarding financial information relevant to the position, assists in locating victim investors, and is the primary contact for public inquiries regarding the receipt and distribution of funds.

Job Duties:

1. Responsibility for Restitution, Penalty, and Investor Distribution Functions

a. Maintain financial records

i. Reconcile accounts

ii. Update databases

iii. Prepare distribution requests

iv. Report to management

b. Initiate distributions to victims

c. Initiate transfers between accounts

d. Prepare legal documents with guidance

2. Communication with other parties

a. Respond to inquiries from respondents and victim investors

b. Locate contact information of victim investors through use of databases

c. Coordinate with process counterparts

d. Provide guidance regarding the collections process to other staff

e. Discuss issues with case teams

3. Assist Enforcement Cases

a. Review and prepare preliminary reports of enforcement case financial information

b. Prepare financial data for upload to case financial databases

4. Additional activities as required by the Director of Securities and/or the Assistant Director of Securities.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

•Knowledge of accounts receivable/payable or similar functions. Knowledge of accounting software and Microsoft office. Knowledge of bookkeeping/financial record keeping procedures.

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Moderate skills in QuickBooks. Excellent oral and written communication skills.

•Effectively present financial information. Communicate with the public. Enter large volumes of financial data accurately and efficiently. Prioritize and manage various competing projects and deadlines. Ability to multitask as needed.

Selective Preference(s):

· Prior experience in regulatory or legal environment.

· Prior customer service experience.

· Spanish speaking.
