Under the direction of the Finance & Accounting Supervisor, this position is responsible for maintaining a fiscal services system for state appropriations including examining a variety of financial documents for completeness, accuracy, and conformance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) or other specific accounting requirements and provides support to the Accounting and Payroll Units. This position plays an important role in finance research, compliance, approvals, and training
This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.
A minimum of two days on-site at the ADWR office per week is required. Additionally, the position will be required to work on-site Monday through Friday for the first two months of employment.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Review, analyze, and report on fiscal transactions including billings, invoices, payments, payroll, and other financial documents for accuracy and compliance
- Track and analyze expenditures across the agency
- Examine financial statements and accounting records for completeness, accuracy, and conformance with GAAP and other applicable requirements.
- Reconcile financial reports and accounting data, identifying discrepancies and resolving routine issues.
- Ensure timely and accurate posting of financial transactions
- Enter and verifies financial and other data to provide records, reports, and other information and correspondence in a systematic manner
- Maintain agency ledgers of financial records, reports, reconcile spreadsheets, checks, and deposits
- Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment
Preference will be given to those applicants with:
- Prior working knowledge of AFIS/AZ360
- Payroll experience
- HR systems experience
