The Licensing Intake Officer position will perform complex technical regulatory work to determine compliance of documents with applicable state laws, Event Wagering and Fantasy Sports rules, and the Tribal-State Gaming Compact, in support of the State Licensure and Tribal Gaming Certification processes. This position is responsible for organizing and processing employee, business, and key personnel applications for those seeking State Licensure and/or State Certification. Maintains external correspondence with Event Wagering and Fantasy Sports Operators, suppliers, and/or Tribal Gaming Offices, as well as internal correspondence with the Certification and Licensing Unit. Maintains regulatory database for State Licensure and/or State Certification.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
● Performs complex technical regulatory work, including accurate and timely examination of documents.
● Responsible for organizing and processing employee, business, and key personnel applications for those seeking State Licensure and/or State Certification.
● Maintains regulatory database for employee and business applications, licenses, certifications and correspondence.
● Work closely with the special agents of the Certification and Licensing Unit conducting background investigations.
● Acts as Department contact with Event Wagering and Fantasy Sports Operators, Suppliers, Tribal Gaming Offices, and Regulatory agencies.
● Processes fingerprints and investigative documents for entry into the Department’s database. Performs duties at the direction of the Event Wagering and Fantasy Sports Licensing Supervisor, Manager, and Assistant Director.
● Determines licensure/certification classification of employees and businesses
● May act as Department liaison with Event Wagering and Fantasy Sports Operators, Suppliers and Tribal Gaming Offices.
● Complies with requests from agency staff, Event Wagering and Fantasy Sports Operators, Suppliers, Tribal Gaming Offices, and the public.
| Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs): |
Knowledge of:
• Arizona Tribal-State Gaming Compact sections and Appendices.
• Event Wagering standards and methods, Fantasy Sports standards and methods, Arizona Criminal Justice Information System (ACJIS).
• Information technology to ensure that records in electronic formats are properly managed.
• Lean tools and methods.
• Microsoft Office and G-Suite/Workplace.
Skills in:
• Gathering of facts and information.
• Organizing, analyzing, and comprehending.
• Logical interpretations necessary to perform administrative duties.
• Monitoring and reviewing the processing of applications for Tribal Gaming licensing.
• State Certifications and Event Wagering and Fantasy Sports licensing.
Ability to:
• Work accurately and in a timely manner.
• Adapt to changing assignments and priorities.
• Respond to inquiries with tact, diplomacy, and appropriate timely information.
• Work as a team player within several divisions.
• Establish and maintain effective and positive working relationships with agency staff and the public.
• Travel, which may include overnight stays and work from home.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of three (3) years of customer service experience. Must possess excellent organizational skills.
• Two (2) years’ experience with Microsoft Office, Google-Suite/Workspace and Salesforce. Familiarity with the Arizona Management System.
| Pre-Employment Requirements: |
● Requires possession of and ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver’s license appropriate to the assignment. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete any required driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.12.)
