Job Summary:

Reports to the Facilities Manager with minimal supervision. Plans, coordinates, and supervises custodial operations with an emphasis on floor care services to ensure clean, safe, and functional facilities. Supervises custodial personnel; oversees work assignments, inspections, equipment, supplies, and service delivery; and ensures compliance with departmental policies, procedures, and safety standards.

Job Duties:

Plans, schedules, and supervises custodial operations with an emphasis on floor care services. Establishes work priorities; assigns, inspects, and evaluates work; supervises and develops staff; oversees supplies and equipment; and ensures quality, safety, and departmental standards are met.

Orders, receives, stores, and distributes custodial supplies and equipment. Maintains inventory, oversees the custodial rag laundering program, and coordinates equipment maintenance and chemical storage level. Ensures all Custodial staff adheres to work schedules.

Ensures compliance with safety regulations and departmental policies. Trains employees in custodial procedures, floor care techniques, equipment operation, chemical handling, and the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge of:
- Custodial operations, sanitation practices, and commercial floor care.
- Commercial custodial equipment, chemicals, inventory control, and SDS requirements.
- OSHA regulations, workplace safety, and supervisory principles.
- Customer service and effective communication practices.

Skill in:
- Supervising, coaching, and evaluating employees.
- Planning and scheduling custodial and floor care operations.
- Operating and training employees on commercial custodial equipment.
- Conducting inspections, maintaining inventory, and resolving operational issues.

Ability to:
- Supervise custodial personnel and prioritize work assignments.
- Inspect custodial and floor care work to ensure quality standards.
- Interpret and apply policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
- Communicate effectively with employees, management, and customers.
- Respond to changing operational priorities and emergency situations.

Pre-Employment Requirements:

This position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job, and the following requirements apply. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver’s license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver’s license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R2-10-207.11).

Requires ability to pass a post-offer physical exam.
