Job Summary:

The primary responsibility will be state property management, conducting inventories, writing reports, transferring property as necessary. Secondary responsibility will be as a back up buyer. ASPC – Phoenix.

Job Duties:

-Purchases goods and services for the complex
-Coordinates and prepares purchase orders
-Maintains state awarded contract files
-Writes detailed specifications for supplies, materials, equipment services unavailable through State Procurement contracts
-Conducts research for requests for bids and writes bid analysis and evaluations
-Determines vendors for formal bids and makes recommendations for purchase orders
-Trains, coordinates, and supervises staff
-Drives on State business
-Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment

Selective Preference(s):

-Two years experience equivalent to a Buyer I; or a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in purchasing and one year of experience

Pre-Employment Requirements:

Employment is contingent on the selected applicant passing a background investigation and drug test.

Requires possession of, and ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver’s license appropriate to the assignment. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete any required driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.12).

In an effort to maintain a safe environment, all employees are required to take a Tuberculosis (TB) test during their New Employee Orientation and every year thereafter.

Retirement:

Positions in this classification participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS). Enrollment eligibility will become effective after 27 weeks of employment.
