The Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our Team as a Human Resources Technician. Job duties include frequent follow-ups and one-on-one interaction with candidates awaiting the next steps in the hiring process.

- Follows up daily with applicants by telephone or in person to obtain necessary hiring documentation (birth certificates, social security cards, etc.) as required
- Provides assistance in acquiring documents as necessary
- Refers and schedules applicants for each step of the recruitment process
- Inputs results from medical clinics, psych results and/or backgrounds
- Follows up for results from medical clinics or psych results, and follows up with applicants in regards to results from medical or psych
- Tracks all defer applicants and follows up on day of deferral
- Maintains a daily log of interactions with applicants and inputs information into the Recruitment Unit for Selection and Hiring (RUSH) Hiring System (HS) accordingly
- Assists in testing processes as required
- Assists applicants in ensuring paperwork is completed and prepares paperwork for completion
- Drive on State business
- Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment
| Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs): |
Knowledge of:
- Basic personnel procedures
- Composing correspondence to include proper format, spelling, and language usage
- Personal computers and associated software including Microsoft Office and Google Suites
Skill in:
- Applying excellent organization skills

- Handling detailed work with accuracy and speed
- Written and verbal communication
Ability to:
- Plan, coordinate, analyze and establish priorities
- Function in a fast-paced working environment and meet deadlines with minimal supervision

- Respond to a wide variety of personnel inquiries
- One (1) year of administrative experience, data entry and customer service
- Knowledge or supporting pre-employment processing (gathering and verifying documents, completing required HR entries, updating systems) to ensure a smooth hiring/onboarding flow
- Experience following up with applicants, collecting required hiring documents, and keeping the applicant pipeline organized in an HR system

Employment is contingent on the selected applicant passing a background investigation.
In an effort to maintain a safe environment, all employees are required to take a Tuberculosis (TB) test during their New Employee Orientation and every year thereafter.
If this position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job, then the following requirements apply. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver’s license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver’s license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R2-10-207.11).

Positions in this classification participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS).
