The AACOIHC was established by A.R.S. 36-2902.01 to give tribal governments, tribal organizations and urban Indian health care organizations representation in shaping Medicaid and health care policies and laws that impact indigenous peoples in Arizona. The AACOIHC, utilizes its knowledge of Indian health systems, tribal sovereignty, common chronic health conditions and disparities, and health policy to serve as a resource for Tribal governments and the State of Arizona, and supports prevention, training, education, and policy development as the keys to meeting the unique health care needs of indigenous peoples. The AACOIHC strives to be the premier resource for Tribes and Urban Indians in Arizona on health care.

Job Summary:

The Arizona Advisory Council on Indian Health Care is looking for highly motivated individual to join our team as a Grants Program Coordinator (GPC). Reporting to the Grants Manager (GM), the GPC is a grant funded position that assists the Grants Manager in implementing the America Indian Health - AHEC (AIH-AHEC) program. The GPC will coordinate the continuing education and the professional development component of the AIH-AHEC program; assist with the student clinical rotation process for stipend disbursements; and data entry of AIH-AHEC participant information into the AzAHEC Salesforce database. The GPC will work collaboratively with the other AIH-AHEC team members towards achieving grant goals and deliverables. The Grants Program Coordinator will assist with implementation of the program's professional development and CEU sessions, clinical rotation placements and community outreach activities. The Grants Program Coordinator will work closely with AIH-AHEC partners and Tribal organizations to address workforce needs in American Indian Health and Tribal Health systems.

Major duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Assists with the processes of the student clinical rotation stipends disbursements, serves as a resource to the students and the Grants Manager for ensuring accuracy with this task. Works closely with the program's Fiscal Intermediary towards ensuring accuracy and accountability with student disbursements. Processes all incoming student stipend applications in a timely basis and according to AZ AHEC requirements.
• Provides direct assistance to the Grants Manager to develop, manage, and implement operational frameworks and infrastructure for the AIH-AHEC programs. Coordinates professional development and CEU opportunities for healthcare professionals working within Tribal facilities. Obtains educational accreditation through the various CEU accrediting bodies.
• Responsible for the accurate data entry of AIH-AHEC participant information into the AzAHEC Salesforce database to include all AIH-AHEC activities, and other required information. Attends all database updates meetings and participates in the bi-annual audit of participant information. Serves as the Salesforce Coordinator for the program, ensures data entry is accurate and reportable, provides data reports per schedule.
• Participates with community outreach and partner meetings as requested, serves as a representative of the AIH-AHEC Team at conferences, Tribal Confers and Gatherings. This includes assisting with planning curriculum, training programs and conferences associated with the program. Assists with quarterly narrative reports.
• Assists with the coordination, monitoring and evaluation of programs and projects that are funded by the Rural Health Transformation Program (RHTP) under the direction of the Grants manager. Develops and maintains master files for the RHTP grant and paperwork connected to this program.

Knowledge:
• Policies, procedures and programs of continuing education and professional development accreditation systems, health care provider education institutions and how they interact
• Administrative and management practices
• Public relations techniques
• Continuing Educational systems and working with healthcare professionals
• Online virtual education/meeting platforms

Skills:
• Computer Skills, including experience with Google Suite and Microsoft Products, Salesforce database
• Strong writing and editing skills
• Very strong data entry skills and report writing
• Extensive contact with various diversified Accreditation Entities across healthcare disciplines

Abilities:
• Manage financial stipend disbursements and serve as a resource for undergraduate and graduate students
• Plan professional educational-training opportunities across multiple disciplines
• Work independently as a team member
• Manage multiple tasks within an independent work environment, prioritizing tasks to ensure timelines are met
• Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships
• Work with a wide variety of healthcare professionals
• Have a professional and proactive work ethic and work within a team dynamic

Qualifications:

Arizona Driver's License.

Minimum:
• Two - three years' experience in educational/academic advising for students 9-14 regarding career path and academic success, OR Bachelor's degree in a related field with 1-2 years job related experience with students.

Preferred:
• Bachelors in Related Field; and 2-3 years of experience in youth career path advising, college admissions, Tribal College; or secondary academic counseling.

• Experience in working with Tribal organizations and a knowledge of academic program coordination, mentoring and career counseling integrated within Indigenous cultures.
