The Department of Economic Security, Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD), is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as an Administrative Assistant 2. This position performs various administrative and clerical tasks to support DDD's Cultural Competency Plan/Limited English Proficiency Plan. These Plans will ensure cross-cultural and linguistically competent and compliant practices in the functional areas, including the delivery of services to members.
DDD provides individuals with developmental disabilities, and their families, services and supports that are flexible, high-quality, and member-driven. These services provide individuals with opportunities to exercise their rights and responsibilities of independent decision-making and engagement in the community.
Applicants for this position cannot be licensed or certified by the DDD Office of Licensing, Certification and Regulation, cannot have a principal interest in or have a spouse or close family with a principal interest in a DDD Qualified Vendor Agreement, and cannot be employed or subcontracted by a DDD Qualified Vendor.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Coordinates specialized administrative work to support both Cultural Competency Manager and Coordinator.
- Note-taking of meeting minutes.
- Organizes meeting agendas and manages calendars.
- Reviews, reads and researches materials and reports.
- Report preparation. Assists with formatting outgoing correspondence, letters and memos.
- Organizes and maintains a shared electronic filing system.
- Communicates and coordinates with other DDD units, external stakeholders and vendors as instructed.
- Uses computer software to create and manage databases, spreadsheets, and reports.
The preferred/ideal candidate for this position will have:
- Two years of responsible administrative experience; or a Bachelor's degree in a field appropriate to the assignment from an accredited college or university and one year of the required experience; or a Master's degree in a field appropriate to the assignment from an accredited college or university.
