Come Join the DES Team! The Department of Economic Security is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as an Accounting Supervisor 2. The Accounting Supervisor 2, under the direction of the Accounting Manager, provides financial and accounting support to Departmental management and external partners, including the General Accounting Office (GAO) and the Auditor General’s Office (AGO). This role involves overseeing federal and state reports, assisting in the compilation of the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR), and ensuring compliance with relevant policies and regulations. This critical role is responsible for ensuring the integrity of our financial operations and maintaining strict compliance with all relevant governmental accounting regulations. The ideal candidate must have a comprehensive, expert-level understanding of the principles and pronouncements of the Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB). This position may be available for remote work within Arizona (one to two days a week in the office/hoteling or based on business needs).
