Industrial Commission Claims Assistant Manager

| This position will work closely with the Claims Manager to oversee daily operations and staff of the Industrial Commission of Arizona Claims Division to create and maintain a positive team culture focused on continuous improvement and employee engagement; Implementation of short-term and long-term strategies to ensure that the Commission meets its statutory obligations in these areas as set forth in A.R.S.§ 23-901 et seq (Arizona Workers' Compensation Act) and all other applicable laws and rules. This position will supervises direct and indirect reports in compliance with all rules, regulations, procedures, state personnel statutes and regulations, and performs other duties and responsibilities described herein.
This position manages the Insurance & Administration teams of the Claims Division and demonstrates and understanding of applicable Workers Compensation statutes, rules and case laws. This position will also serve as a subject matter expert on the State of Arizona and Claims Division records retention.
This position is responsible for guiding the day to day operations of the Claims Division's daily operations |

| Performs work corresponding to the activities within the Division of Public Health Licensing Services, Bureau of Assisted Living
Facilities Licensing. Assists with or determines the issuing of licenses to licensed facilities and providers, maintaining current licenses
by ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations. Conducts initial and annual recertification inspections of health care institutions
regulated by the Department to determine compliance with all applicable regulations. Review of quality systems by tracking documents,
corrective actions, and other quality data. Conducts investigations of the operation of a licensed facility or provider upon receiving a
complaint or of an unlicensed facility. Performing services that need regulation. Corresponds with the regulated community or with
regulatory bodies, responds to technical questions from licensees, develops standards, participates in rule-making, and conducts
inspections. Performs, assists or reviews detailed investigative or inspection reports, statements of deficiencies, and correspondence
regarding changes in the status of a licensee’s license, or other types of legal orders.

LABORATORY COMPLIANCE OFFICER

| Performs work corresponding to the activities within the Quality Assurance and Improvement Office, Radiation Control, and the
Laboratory Licensure and Certification Office. Assists or determines the issuing of licenses to laboratories (Medical Marijuana,
Environmental, Clinical), maintaining current licenses (EPA, CLIA, ISO/IEC) for ASPHL by ensuring the minimum standards of
proficiency, methodology, quality assurance, operation and safety, and ensuring compliance with ionizing and non-ionizing radiation.
Conducts initial and annual inspections of laboratories, ionizing and nonionizing facilities to determine compliance with the Statutes or
Rules. Review of quality systems by tracking documents, corrective actions, and other quality data. Conducts investigations of the
operation of a licensed laboratory upon receiving a complaint or of an unlicensed laboratory performing compliance testing.
This position is required to perform work at/attend meetings at alternate locations and/or travel (in and out of state) when necessary,
possibly requiring a state, personal or rented vehicle.
Corresponds with the regulated lab community or with regulatory bodies, responds to technical questions from the laboratories,
development of standards, rule making and laboratory inspections. Perform, assist or review detailed investigative or inspection reports,
statements of deficiencies, and correspondence regarding changes in the status of a laboratory's certification, or other types of legal
orders.
Has general knowledge of theories, practices and procedures within a discipline. Continues to build experience within the field.
Develops competence by performing structured work assignments. Uses existing prescribed guidelines or policies to analyze and
resolve problems. |
