Job Summary/Basic Function

The Department of Political and Global Affairs at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for a full-time, temporary (non-tenurable) dual-enrollment faculty position (#130460) at the rank of lecturer. This is a one-year temporary appointment with a possible annual renewal for up to three years. The start date for the appointment is August 1, 2024.

The successful candidate will teach sections of dual enrollment political science at Rutherford County area high schools and courses on campus as needed to satisfy a full-time teaching workload every year. The sections will be offered in the normal high school course schedule. The successful candidate must communicate regularly with the high school administration and the department chair at MTSU to coordinate planned course activities with the high school calendar.

Required Education

A master's degree in political science, public administration, public policy, or a closely related field is required by the appointment date. In lieu of a master's degree, a bachelor's degree with 30 graduate hours in political science, public administration, public policy, or a closely related field will be considered.

Other Desirables

Applicants with a PhD or those who are ABD in political science, public administration, public policy, or a closely related field will receive special consideration.
