Job Summary/Basic Function

The Assistant Enrollment Coordinator is assigned to the front desk of the MT One Stop to serve as the primary point of contact for students seeking assistance in initial enrollment and ongoing retention, as well as provide general assistance with transactions related to any of the enrollment services areas. Essential tasks include answering general questions and problem-solving across all enrollment management areas, including bursar, financial aid, academic processes & residency, scheduling, and records. The Assistant Enrollment Coordinator must understand the interrelationships among these areas, be able to assess the student's initial inquiry, discern co-related issues and resolve them, or seek advice/transfer the student to an Enrollment Counselor for assistance and resolution. The incumbent will learn and maintain a general understanding of MTSU, Board of Trustees, Federal guidelines, academic policies and procedures, financial aid processing, and scheduling and is expected to perform other related tasks or special projects as assigned.

Required Education

Bachelors degree required. Note: A high school diploma or HSE and four years of directly related experience may be considered in lieu of the Bachelor's degree.

Required Related Experience

Entry level position; training will be provided.

Desirable Related Experience

Prior experience in a student leadership position, paraprofessional experience (tutoring, mentoring, RA, SOA, etc.) or significant student employment in an advising, enrollment, orientation, or student affairs office preferred.
