Job Summary/Basic Function

The School of Agriculture at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position (#102040) in Agribusiness at the rank of assistant or associate professor. The start date for the position is August 1, 2025.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate strong quantitative skills and the ability to excel in applied research.
  • Secure external funding to support a nationally recognized research program.
  • Teach a variety of undergraduate agribusiness courses, including policy, management, marketing, data analysis, and finance.
  • Supervise undergraduate research projects.
  • Develop and teach online courses.
  • Advise student organizations.
  • Engage in public service and student mentoring.
  • Demonstrate effective teaching, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Collaborate effectively with peers, students, constituent groups, and the general public.

Required Education

A terminal degree in agribusiness, agricultural economics, economics, applied economics, natural resource and environmental economics, business, agricultural leadership, marketing, management, or a closely related field is required by the appointment date.

Other Desirables

Applicants with evidence of high-quality teaching experience, demonstrated through course evaluations and recommendations, the ability to conduct and publish agribusiness-related research, evidenced by presentation and publication records, and a track record of attracting or potential to attract external funding will receive special consideration.
