Job Summary/Basic Function
The Department of University Studies at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position (#136050) in Mathematics at the rank of assistant or associate professor. The start date for the position is August 1, 2025.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teaching:
- Teach general education lower-level college mathematics and statistics courses.
- Focus on foundational mathematics courses designed for students with varying abilities who have not yet demonstrated college-level readiness in mathematics, including those with Math ACT scores below 19.
- Higher-level mathematics (e.g., Calculus, Differential Equations, Partial Differential Equations, Analysis) will not be included in the teaching load.
- Research:
- Develop and maintain an active research agenda appropriate to the field of mathematics education.
- Service:
- Engage in public, professional, department, college, and university service functions.
Required Education
A terminal degree in mathematics or mathematics education from an accredited college or university required by the appointment date.
Other Desirables
Applicants with two (2) full years of full-time teaching experience in higher education will receive special consideration.
