Job Summary/Basic Function
The Specialist-Student Recreation Center Events serves as the central point of coordination for all facility scheduling, reservations, and external rentals for Campus Recreation. This position provides sole ownership and oversight of the departmental calendar and reservation systems, ensuring that all internal and external events are accurately scheduled and executed.
Responsible for managing external client relationships, contracts, invoicing, and event logistics, while also coordinating internal program reservations across all program areas.
Provides supervision of student event staff and supports departmental outreach efforts to increase awareness, participation, and revenue generation. This role allows program coordinators to focus on student development and program delivery by centralizing scheduling and reservation responsibilities.
Required Education
Bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Sports Management, Event Management, Higher Education, or related field.
Required Related Experience
One (1) year experience in event coordination, facility scheduling, or operations management. Experience gained while working as a graduate assistant will be considered.
Required License/Registration/Certification
First Aid/CPR certiciation
Desirable Related Experience
Experience supervising student staff or part-time employees.
Experience in campus recreation or higher education.
Experience with reservation or scheduling software (e.g., Innosoft Fusion and 25Live).
Desirable License/Registration/Certification
CPR/First Aid/AED Instructor Certification (or ability to obtain).
