Job Summary/Basic Function

The Department of University Studies at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position (#136080) at the rank of assistant or associate professor in Math. The start date for the position is August 1, 2024.

The successful candidate will teach general education lower-level college mathematics and statistics courses and must have the capacity to work with students with varying abilities (e.g., students with Math ACT < 19). In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to engage in scholarly activities and service at the university, professional, and public levels.

Required Education

A terminal degree in Mathematics is required by the appointment date. A terminal degree in Education or Mathematics Education with a Master's degree in Mathematics (or a closely related field with at least 18 graduate hours in mathematics) from an accredited college or university will be considered. ABD will be considered if it is close to completion. A terminal degree must be earned no later than August 1, 2024, for contract renewal.

Other Desirables

Applicants with two years of full-time teaching experience in higher education will receive special consideration.
