Job Summary/Basic Function
The Department of English at Middle Tennessee State University is seeking applicants for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position (#123400) in Medieval Literature (Old and Middle English) at the rank of assistant or associate professor. The start date for this position is August 1, 2024.
The successful candidate is expected to teach general education courses in composition and literature, undergraduate courses in medieval British Literature, and graduate courses in Old and Middle English and other medieval topics. Research specialization may be in either period.
Required Education
A terminal degree in English or a closely related field by the start date is required.
Other Desirables
Applicants with any of the following secondary areas of teaching and research interest may receive special consideration: history of the book, digital humanities/digital archives, Middle East Studies, and Byzantine Studies.
