Job Summary/Basic Function

The School of Agriculture at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for a 9-month coordinator-track faculty position in Animal Science at the rank of instructor. The start date for the position is August 1, 2024.

The successful candidate is expected to have a working knowledge of animal science curricula. Responsibilities include teaching various undergraduate-level courses in the animal sciences and maintaining an up-to-date curriculum for the animal science high school dual enrollment program. Outreach activities, student mentoring, and university/professional service are further requirements for this position. Duties may also include supervision of undergraduate research projects, student organization advising, and coaching/mentoring undergraduate teams, including the animal science academic quadrathlon team, livestock judging team, and dairy challenge team. Effective teaching, organizational, and communication skills are essential. The successful candidate should be a productive team player and interact well with peers, students, and constituent groups.

Required Education

An MS or PhD in animal science, veterinary science, or a closely related field is required by the appointment date.

Other Desirables
