Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Administer and coordinate financial aid loan programs offered by the Office of Financial Aid such as the Federal Direct Student Loan Program which includes Subsidized, Unsubsidized and Parent PLUS Direct Student loans as well as the Alternative Loan Program.
• Maintain knowledge of loan eligibility and processing requirements, including loan limits, reallocation process, disbursement requirements, deferment and forbearance process, loan consolidation, default prevention and loan forgiveness programs.
• Supervise default management. This includes but is not limited to reviewing monthly default/delinquency reports, place holds on the academic records of students who have defaulted or have not completed exit loan counseling, order default management forms and publications, and contact borrowers who have been reported as delinquent.
• Run Banner process related to student loans.
• Serve as a liaison with private lenders, loan services and COD/Common Origination and Disbursement.
• Monitor transactions and work closely with the Bursar’s office to ensure the timely disbursement and return of loan funds.
• Work with Director of Financial Aid and 3rd party partner to implement the Default Management program to meet federal compliance.
• Assist in the reconciliation process of Direct Loan disbursements between Banner and Common Origination and Disbursement (COD).
• Utilize the Banner Financial Aid Module to determine loan eligibility.
• Attend conferences and seminars to keep abreast of changing financial aid regulations.
• Advise parents and students regarding financial aid awards.
• Completes verification process for selected aid recipients when applicable.
• Package financial aid awards.
• Represent the College in Financial Aid Outreach events.
• Manage Special Circumstance Forms.
• Assist with Suspense files.
• Assist with show/no show reporting.
• Resolve C-Flags for students.
• Other duties as assigned by the Director for Financial Aid.

Required Education: 

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or other related degree with a minimum of three (3) years in post-secondary education, specifically in a Financial Aid and/or student loan processing environment.
