The Business Operations Coordinator provides support for the administrators, upper-level managers and other office personnel of the LED FastStart Program as assigned by the Business Operations Manager.
This position will be domiciled in Baton Rouge, LA.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Purchasing:
• Performs entry-level professional procurement tasks for one or more entities or commodities from the time of need until the materials are received and approve for use by the entity.
• Prepare purchase requisitions for approval.
• Establishes and maintains records of procurement transactions; establishes and maintains files of qualified vendors and procurement policies and procedure.
• Follows up on deliveries, i.e. expediting or non-delivery, receipt and quality of materials.
• Corresponds with vendor and agency staff, verbally or written, on contract terms, deliveries, quality and order changes.
• Responsible for maintaining custody, using Louisiana’s La Carte procurement card for approved purchases and account management.
• Consolidates purchases of like or common items to obtain maximum economic benefit for the entire agency. Knowledge of Louisiana State Purchasing Procurement Contracts and the LaGov System is preferred.
Inventory State Property:
• Maintains inventory records.
• Responsible for moveable state property; tagging, reporting, performing the annual physical inventory, transferring or moving of state property and surplus or scrap property. Ensure property and inventory procedures are followed.
Travel for the Department:
• Use computer to enter or retrieve information; prepare summaries of reports as instructed, checking details on documents, reports, and forms for accuracy and completeness; audit travel expense reports for compliance with state travel policy.
• Assist LED FastStart’s LCTCS personnel with travel documentation and entry in the Chrome River system.
• Responsible for covering payments to hotels and CBA
• Responsible for travel processing post approval.
• Independently responds to routine requests for information in the form of correspondence, reports or telephone requests based on knowledge of policies and procedures. Independently process various routine reports, correspondence, and financial records.
• Review and/or summarize incoming inquiries, billing reports or correspondence from Contractors and take appropriate action or refer to supervisor. Add data from reports, purchasing and contract records to LED FastStart database.
• Compose short letters, emails and other correspondence, perform routine typing including cards, labels, folders, and envelopes.
• Perform additional related duties as assigned.
Required Education: A baccalaureate degree from an accredited school is required. Business degree is preferred. Candidates with 120 or more semester hours of credit, but without a degree, must also have at least two years of full-time work experience in a purchasing and/or contract review business office to substitute for the baccalaureate degree.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Proficiency with MS Outlook, MS Word, and MS Excel.
