Duties and Responsibilities:
• Maintain performance standards and pursue goals, objectives, and activities that promote the mission, vision and value statement of the College.
• Coordinate quarterly safety training and document attendance for audit purposes.
• Maintain training documentation and monitor expiration dates for audit purposes.
• Point of contact for annual safety audit.
• Update and maintain Safety Manual.
• Maintain inspection records as it relates to extinguishers, elevators, AED’s, sprinkler systems.
• Order equipment and supplies for F&A/Risk Management (first aid, AED, pads and batteries as needed), PPE-personal protective equipment.
• Coordinate and document Fire Drills.
• Prepare annual safety and security report to ensure compliance with DOE reporting requirements (Cleary Act).
• Manage contracted security services.
• Implement changes as suggested by the BOR Vulnerability Assessment.
• Collaborate with local authorities for disaster preparedness i.e. hurricanes, storms etc.
• Coordinate with maintenance foreman to asses risks and make recommended corrections for unsafe conditions.
• Collaborate with law enforcement officials on industry security standards.
• Member of Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT) for behavioral health related issues and concerns.
• Respond as a point of contact to behavioral health/medical concerns involving staff, faculty, students, and visitors as it relates to safety and security. Liaison between student affairs/services to coordinate activities and response.
• Reach out to partners in the collegiate system and align similar safety/security protocols. Attend seminars as it relates to safety/security.
• Coordinate Fletcher Strong/CERT Team efforts.
• Foster, demonstrate, and actively participate in a culture of mutual respect for students, guests, and co-workers from all backgrounds, perspectives and abilities. Communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and supervisors and utilize appropriate channels of communication within the college community concerning procedures and/or inquiries.
• Attend and participate in scheduled activities, which include graduation, open house/recruiting events as assigned, convocation, and required meetings. Share ideas and information, and work toward common department and College goals.
• Serve on college committees as a member or as chair. Serve on search committees.
• Participate in professional development activities that enhance effectiveness (convocation, LCTCS conference, etc.).
• Represent the college in a manner that promotes a professional and positive image.
• Adhere to College and LCTCS policies.
• Embrace college culture.
• Complete all required assignments prior to deadlines (Fletcher/LCTCS trainings, etc.).
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Education: Bachelor’s degree
