Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Deliver instruction in the classroom, lab, and clinical settings in accordance with institutional and accrediting body requirements.
2. Develop and update syllabi, lesson plans, and course materials to reflect current healthcare practices and certification standards.
3. Evaluate and assess student progress, providing timely feedback and academic support.
4. Coordinate clinical site placements and supervise students during hands-on training experiences.
5. Maintain compliance with program accreditation, state board, and institutional policies.
6. Stay current with developments in the medical assisting field and integrate them into instructional content.
7. Foster a safe, inclusive, and professional learning environment for all students.
8. Maintain accurate student records, including grades, attendance, and clinical competencies.
9. Support student retention, completion, and credentialing efforts through proactive engagement and mentoring.
10. Attend departmental meetings, advisory board meetings, and professional development sessions as required.
11. Promote health, safety, ethics, and professionalism across all aspects of instruction.
12. Collaborate with healthcare industry partners to ensure curriculum relevance and graduate employability.
13. Participate in recruitment, campus events, and outreach initiatives in support of program growth.
14. Identify equipment, supply, and instructional needs to support effective program delivery.
15. Ensure adherence to FERPA, HIPAA, and institutional confidentiality policies.
16. Engage in continuous quality improvement of teaching practices and program outcomes.
17. Support the mission and values of Louisiana Delta Community College.
Required Education:
Technical diploma or higher in a healthcare-related field.
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) licensed in the state of Louisiana and in good standing.
Minimum of three years of clinical healthcare experience, preferably in outpatient or ambulatory care settings.
Teaching or instructional experience preferred but not required.
