Duties and Responsibilities:
Assess the needs of students and develop individualized support plans to address basic needs, housing insecurity, mental health concerns, and access to healthcare and benefits screening.
Facilitate workshops and informational sessions on topics such as mental health awareness, financial literacy, wellness, and benefits navigation.
Collaborate with faculty, academic advisors, and student affairs personnel to identify students in need of intervention.
Serve as a liaison between the college and local/state agencies, including food banks, housing agencies, Medicaid, SNAP, and mental health providers.
Maintain accurate, confidential records and case notes in compliance with FERPA and other applicable laws and ethical standards.
Participate in campus-wide committees and initiatives related to student success, health, and wellness.
Provide support during campus emergencies and coordinate crisis intervention efforts
The ideal candidate will possess the ability to engage with the broader community to establish meaningful partnerships, attract external resources, and secure funding opportunities that support and enhance departmental initiatives. This includes building strong relationships with local organizations, agencies, and stakeholders to expand the reach and impact of campus programs and services.
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree of Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or equivalent
Required Experience: Training in social work and/or counseling required. Experience with and commitment to working with low-income families and individuals. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Excellent time management, organizational and computer software skills. Entrepreneurial spirit. Strong commitment to the shared mission of single Stop and Delgado Community College.

Preferred Education: Masters of Social Work or equivalent preferred.
Preferred Experience: Experience working with large client population strongly preferred.
Experience with and commitment to working with low-income families and individuals. Bilingual Spanish/English strongly preferred. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
