Duties and Responsibilities:
Instructional and Student Support
• Provide one-on-one and small-group tutoring to students in reading, writing, math, and digital literacy
• Support students in completing Northstar Digital Literacy assessments and related assignments
• Collaborate with instructors to monitor student progress and offer supplemental academic assistance
• Assist with the coordination and delivery of instructional and training resources
Intake and Admissions Support
• Greet and assist new and returning students in person and by phone
• Guide students through the admission and enrollment process
• Conduct student intake interviews and assist with student testing as needed
Administrative Responsibilities
• Perform data entry and student record updates in SIS and DRC systems
• Assign students to appropriate courses and instructional software
• Maintain accurate administrative and student files
• Track department supply needs and maintain inventory
• Monitor and report staff/faculty IT issues
Collaboration and Outreach
• Work with Dean/Director and instructional staff to identify and address student needs
• Assist with program development and outreach efforts in the community
• Participate in professional development
Required Education:
• Experience in teaching, tutoring, training, or counseling adult learners
• At least a high school diploma or GED, and either an associate's degree
• A passing score on the ETS ParaPro Assessment. Alternatively, they can also fulfill the requirement by completing two years of full-time study at an institution of higher education.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Familiarity with Northstar Digital Literacy or other digital learning platforms
• Experience working with adult education or workforce development programs
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Comfort with data systems and basic office technology
