Duties and Responsibilities: 

Work Habits: 40%
• Administers and maintains the College’s video surveillance systems across all SLCC campuses.
• Monitors and evaluates camera coverage to ensure critical campus areas are properly monitored.
• Maintains and manages the College’s electronic access control systems, including card readers and door schedules.
• Adjusts and manages access control schedules based on campus operations, holidays, and special events.
• Maintains accurate records and data related to system users, access permissions, and system activity.
• Perform regular audits of security systems to identify system issues, coverage gaps, or operational improvements.
• Coordinates with vendors and IT personnel to troubleshoot and maintain security systems and related infrastructure.
• Assists with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of cameras, card readers, and related equipment.
• Maintains system databases associated with surveillance and access control technologies.
• Supports the implementation and use of AI-assisted monitoring tools and security system analytics.
• Reviews system analytics and reports to identify potential security risks or operational improvements.
• Maintains documentation related to system configuration, access permissions, and equipment inventories.
• Assists with evaluating new technologies to enhance campus safety and security operations.
• Monitors system alerts, analytics platforms, and surveillance systems to identify equipment issues, access irregularities, or security-related concerns.
• Retrieves and reviews video footage for incidents, investigations, and law enforcement requests.

Institutional Support: 20%
• Supports the implementation of campus security procedures and protocols established by the Office of Campus Security
• Assists with documenting and reviewing security incidents to help identify trends and improve response procedures.
• Supports the development and implementation of campus safety and emergency preparedness initiatives.
• Works with local and state public safety agencies when required during incidents or training exercises.
• Reports all relevant student-related incidents to the Office of Judicial Services as required.

Team Relations: 20%
• Supports emergency preparedness efforts for the Lafayette Campus, including drills, exercises, and training activities.
• Assists with coordinating emergency response drills such as lockdown, evacuation, and active threat scenarios.
• Provides technical support during incidents, investigations, and emergency situations involving institutional security systems.
• Documents incidents and security concerns using established reporting procedures.
• Provides technical systems support during emergencies, investigations, and operational disruptions affecting campus security infrastructure.

Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications: 

• One year of experience in a relevant security-related role using access control systems, a role utilizing relevant information technology, or completion of training applicable to this role.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to exercise sound judgment and independent decision-making when responding to system alerts, operational issues, or security concerns.

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Two years of experience administering electronic security systems, information technology systems, access control platforms, video surveillance systems, or related technical infrastructure.
