Duties and Responsibilities:
Instruction & Student Learning
• Teach up to 29 hours per week during regular academic semesters as needed.
• Provide instruction during day, afternoon, evening, and weekend classes when applicable.
• Delivering engaging classroom lectures and hands-on laboratory training in:
o Automotive technology
o Vehicle service and repair
o Automotive systems diagnosis and maintenance
• Incorporate industry best practices, safety procedures, and modern automotive technologies into instruction.
Curriculum Development
• Collaborate with the Program Coordinator and faculty to:
o Develop and revise course curriculum.
o Ensure alignment with current automotive industry standards.
o Address workforce and employer needs.
Training & Student Engagement
• Create lesson plans, instructional materials, and learning activities that:
o Support course objectives.
o Accommodate diverse learning styles and educational backgrounds.
o Encourage active student participation and engagement.
• Integrate practical, hands-on learning experiences into coursework.
Safety & Technology
• Emphasize proper safety procedures and shop practices.
• Utilize instructional technology and industry-standard equipment to enhance learning.
Professional Development
• Participate in ongoing training, certifications, and professional development activities.
• Maintain current knowledge of automotive technologies, repair techniques, and industry trends.
• Become ASE Al certified (minimum)
• Attend necessary meetings

Required Education: The preferred qualifications for this position are a technical diploma or higher in automotive technology or a closely related field, 5 years of current relevant experience in the automotive repair industry, and hold at least one earned ASE certification. The minimum qualifications for the position are a high school diploma or equivalent and 5 years of current relevant experience. The successful applicant must be service-oriented, promote excellence, and demonstrate a commitment to professionalism. Applicants should also demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of students, faculty, and staff from a variety of backgrounds.
