The Quality Management System (QMS) Specialist will work within LED’s workforce, focusing on quality programs for Client companies across the State of Louisiana.
This position will be mainly responsible for providing guidance and support in training, developing, implementing, auditing, and maintaining a system of processes and procedures to ensure that Clients’ products and services meet established industry requirements and regulations. The QMS Specialist will act as an internal consultant to Clients in various industries to include; Aerospace, Automotive, Chemical, Electronics, Food & Beverages, Oil & Gas, Steel, Textile, Woodworking, etc., with a focus on establishing a solid quality management system. Specialized areas of interest will include Safety, Risk Management, ISO, API, FDA requirements, as well as engineering, lean methodologies, logistics, quality, manufacturing, and other business principles.
LED FastStart training programs are offered to client companies on a 24/7 basis. The Quality Management System Specialist will be required to travel throughout Louisiana. This position will reside in Baton Rouge.

Key QMS Specialist support responsibilities for Clients include:
• Conducting gap analysis
• Developing QMS implementation plans
• Mapping processes
• Providing employee training and awareness on quality principles
• Reviewing documentation requirements
• Coaching & training on how to conduct internal quality audits
• Analyzing and reporting quality data
• Managing regulatory compliance activities
The Quality Management System Specialist will interface with client company executives and managers to plan, organize, and evaluate training programs, and to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction to maintain positive client relationships.
The Quality Management System Specialist will be tasked with other duties as assigned by the Senior Director of Training & Development. The ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with all levels of Clients’ organization is essential. Solid organizational and planning skills will be required for teamwork and collaboration to manage concurrent programs with simultaneous development and delivery schedules.
Required Education: Bachelor’s degree required in any of the following areas: Engineering (Industrial, Industrial Technology, Mechanical, Chemical, Computer), Industrial Management or Business (Administration, Management).
***Extensive manufacturing/industry experience (10+ years) with at least 5 years in training responsibilities maybe substituted for the bachelor’s requirement.
Required Experience: A minimum of 5 years experience (separately or combined) in: Quality Control/Assurance, Lean Application, Six Sigma, or Process Improvement. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of five years establishing or leading an organization to ISO compliance and/or certification within a manufacturing or service industry environment.

Preferred Licenses or Certifications:
Certification from a leading certifying body in one of the following is a plus: (Certified Quality Inspector / Technician, CQI/CQT, Certified Quality Engineer-CQE, Certified Quality Auditor-CQA, Certified Quality Improvement Associate-CQIA, Certified Manager of Quality/Operations Excellence, Six Sigma Green / Black Belt).
Preferred Education: Masters Degree preferred but not required.
