Duties and Responsibilities:
• Reviewing Banner reports and records to determine completeness and accuracy,
• Provide monthly reports and data to the Director of Financial Aid,
• Generate Cognos Reports as needed,
• Packaging student files,
• Notifying students by email/mailers concerning Satisfactory Academic
Progress (SAP), Financial Aid deadlines, FWS, and changes in Financial Aid award throughout the semester,
• Preparing mailers, letters, and annual forms in collaboration with the Director and other departments as needed,
• Work closely with Admissions, Registrar, Information Technology, and the Student Accounts to ensure the dissemination of accurate financial aid information to prospective students,
• Work with the Information Technology Department and LCTCS in generating reports and statistical information to facilitate accounting and other reports for financial aid,
• Advise students and parents regarding the Financial Aid application process,
• Perform verification according to Department of Education guidelines and regulations,
• Resolve all conflicting information; rejects; Federal data base match conflicts; and “C” comments,
• Manage scholarship processing
• Collect documents necessary for special circumstances and dependency overrides,
• Communicate with students via postal mail, email, phone or in person to resolve processing problems conflicting information,
• Package and award financial aid when needed,
• Advise students of Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) Policy and appeal process,
• Review SAP Academic Plans with students,
• Review financial aid application forms and student documents for accuracy and completeness,
• Secure additional information from students and parents as necessary,
• Assist with annual Financial Aid Awareness events,
• Reference and track students through NSLDS (National Student Loan Data System) and FAA Access,
• Prepare and maintain student files,
• Assist with the coordination of documents for program reviews and audits,
• Assist with Financial Aid information and FAFSA workshops for both parents and students,
• Assist with training new Financial Aid staff,
• Perform Clock to Credit Hour conversion for programs which are eligible,
• Attend conferences and seminars to keep abreast of changing financial aid regulations
Required Education:
Bachelor's degree and preferably at least 3 years of experience in Financial Aid
