Duties and Responsibilities: 

Work Habits: (50%)
• Keeps abreast of changing state, federal and private foundation grant standards and proposal guidelines.
• Assists in the development and review of grant proposals as needed
• Maintains electronic and hard copy files for each grant-funded project to be used for tracking and reporting purposes
• Ensures each project or program meets all proposal conditions and requirements.
• Prepares documents for site visits and audits; prepares special audit files, reports, and other information as needed
• Inputs data into grants management systems to monitor grant/contract activities and compliance with award terms and conditions
• Collects, maintains, and submits all Time & Effort forms for grant-funded personnel
• Prepares and enters requisitions and maintains records of grant-funded expenditures
• Provides quality assurance reviews of grant documents to ensure compliance with applicable rules, regulations, and guidelines so that each project or program meets all proposal conditions and requirements
• Maintains electronic and hard copy files for each grant-funded project to be used for tracking and reporting purposes
• Conducts routine compliance reviews of grant programs
• Assists with the timely execution of grant monthly, quarterly, and closeout reports.
• Attends all required professional development related to grants administration.

Behavioral Standards: (10%)
• Predictable and reliable attendance is required to provide consistency and continuity of business services.
• Attends grant supported program advisory meetings as needed
• Assists with planning and takes minutes for Perkins Regional Stakeholder Meetings

Institutional Support: (25%)
• Serves on screening committees for grant-funded and college positions
• Assists the Director of Grants Administration in the design of an annual grant development plan based on SoLAcc's strategic priorities and potential funding sources.
• Assists with the completion of the annual Carl Perkins Federal Grants risk assessment document.
• Attends implementation meetings to aid grant program managers in meeting program goals and to ensure compliance with activities and spending.

Team Relations: (15%)
• Performs other related Grants and Institutional Advancement duties as assigned.
• Attends Institutional Advancement meetings and assists in executing IA events
• Develops, in conjunction with SoLAcc’s Accounting office, accurate budgets and financial plans/documentation
• Manages and maintains grants inventory and records in coordination with the Property Office

Required Education: 

Associate degree in a related field or relevant work substitution

Required Experience: 

At least one (1) year of experience in grant administration, compliance, and (or) project management.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and response to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Must be able to demonstrate the proven abilities of intellectual reasoning, power of persuasion, and constant dedication to the position.

• Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical interference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

• Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

• Computer Skills: Possess knowledge of Microsoft Office software and college-specific software.

• Other Qualifications: - Ability to clearly represent the mission and vision of South Louisiana Community College. Ability to work nights and weekends as needed for events, travel to college campuses and other professional development activities as needed. High level of integrity, strong work ethic, confidence, and sense of humor. Ability to participate as a team member, working collaboratively across departments as
needed. Strong attention to detail, high level of personal and professional organizational skill. Must be self-motivated, energetic and creative thinker with strong ability to prioritize, execute a plan and meet goals. Ability to work with a high degree of independence in a fast-paced, dynamic, growing grants development environment with goals and accountability measures. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Ability to prioritize and manage high-priority tasks and responsibilities to meet established deadlines. Knowledge of and ability to research grants electronically and through print sources. Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with external entities relating to higher education and grant funded projects.
