Duties and Responsibilities: 

Work Habits (40%)
• Develop and deliver effective instructional strategies and course materials that align with program objectives and accreditation standards.
• Conduct lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on training sessions for students.
• Assess student learning outcomes and provide timely feedback to support student progress.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and performance evaluations.
• Plan course schedules, class size and coordinate clinical rotation.
• Assist with aligning program with workforce demands.
• Collaborate with other faculty, and program administrators to ensure program alignment meets accreditation standards and industry needs.

Behavioral Standards: (40%)
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of the Phlebotomy program through curriculum assessment and revision.
• Participate in accreditation processes and program reviews as required.
• Support the integration of technology and innovative teaching methods to enhance learning outcomes.
• Provide leadership within the Phlebotomy program, fostering a positive and collaborative learning environment.
• Mentor and guide students through the enrollment process to ensure their academic success and professional development.

Institutional Support: (10%)
• Cultivate and maintain partnerships with healthcare facilities, community organizations, and industry stakeholders to enhance student placement and career opportunities.
• Collaborate with external partners to develop internship and job placement opportunities for program graduates.
• Represent SoLAcc at community events, professional conferences, and industry meetings to promote the Phlebotomy program and establish beneficial relationships.

Team Relations: (10%)
• Participate in faculty meetings, curriculum development, and program evaluation activities.
• Collaborate with other faculty members and departmental staff to enhance the overall student experience within the program.
• Collaborate with program managers and administrators to meet institutional goals and objectives.

Required Education: 

High school diploma.
Current certification as a Certified Phlebotomy Technician in the state of Louisiana.

Required Experience: 

Four years of clinical experience in a healthcare setting.
Two years of teaching experience in a post-secondary educational institution or healthcare training
program.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a diverse, multicultural environment.
